Calista Flockhart Declares She's Game for a New Ally McBeal Season.Summary of Calista Flockhart

The recent Ally McBeal cast reunion at the Emmys sparked discussion about a possible relaunch, and main actor Calista Flockhart said she "would be game."

Flockhart discussed the speculations with Entertainment Tonight at the New York City premiere of FX's Feud: Capote vs. The Swans on Tuesday, January 23, adding, "I think there are a few people talking about a reboot, but I don't know much about it."

Ally McBeal ran on Fox from September 8, 1997 to May 20, 2002, and was Flockhart's breakthrough series. David E. Kelley created the program, which focused on Flockhart's McBeal, a lawyer in a Boston law office, and chronicled her and her coworkers' lives and loves.

Flockhart expressed her willingness to reprise her legendary role, saying, "I would be game." Sure, I'm always interested."

The newfound interest in the classic courtroom comedy follows the cast's reunion at the Emmys earlier this month. The event featured Flockhart and her former co-stars, Greg Germann, Peter MacNicol, and Gil Bellows, dancing on the show's bathroom set.

"I loved working with Peter, Gil, and Greg, and I still do," the Golden Globe-winning actress stated. "The entire Ally McBeal ensemble was so amazing and enchanting, and the program, created by the brilliant 11-time Emmy winner David E. Kelley, was trailblazing and revolutionary, introducing us to a dancing infant and unisex restrooms. "Ally McBeal defied convention through humor and humanity."

Flockhart is now concentrating on Feud, her first regular on-screen appearance since 2016. She portrays Lee Radziwill, a socialite and public relations expert who is Jackie Onassis' younger sister and President John F. Kennedy's sister-in-law.

She appears in the series with Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Demi Moore, and Molly Ringwald. Tom Hollander also appears as Truman Capote.

"It was the right time for me," Flockhart said of her comeback to acting with Feud. "And there's fantastic writing from [Jon Robin Baitz] and Ryan Murphy. I liked Feud number one, fascinated, and all of these fantastic performers, including Tom Hollander. It doesn't get much better than this. So I answered, 'Yes, yes, yes.'
