Biden: I emphasized to Netanyahu the necessity of a ceasefire in order to free the hostages.

US President Joe Biden announced in his recent calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the necessity of declaring a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in order to free the hostages.

Biden said in a speech on Friday: “During the last days, I had substantive discussions with the Israeli Prime Minister.”

Trump's wealth is evaporating... How will he pay his fines?

He continued: "I indicated the necessity of implementing a temporary ceasefire regime in order to free the detainees and hostages. I remain hopeful that it will be possible to do so."

Biden added that he hopes that Israel will not begin a large-scale attack on the ground but rather consider this initiative.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on February 7 that the soldiers had received an order to prepare to launch a military operation in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip. Two days later, Netanyahu instructed the army to prepare a plan to evacuate the civilian population from Rafah and eliminate the Hamas brigades in the city.

The United States expressed concerns about the potential operation in Rafah, warning that it could lead to a "disaster."
