Trump reveals a promise he will fulfill if he wins the presidential election

Former US President Donald Trump on Saturday welcomed the rejection of the immigration bill, saying that if he is re-elected as president, he will lead a massive "deportation operation" from his first day in office.

The billionaire used all his influence with Republican members of Congress to block the text, thus depriving President Joe Biden, who he is likely to face in the November elections, of the opportunity to achieve a victory on the sensitive immigration issue.

"Let's not forget that this week we also achieved a major victory that all conservatives should celebrate," Trump said during a public rally in South Carolina. "We crushed the disastrous project of this crook Joe Biden. The whole group did a great job in Congress. We crushed it."

Under pressure from Trump, Republican lawmakers appear to have decided to block any immigration policy reform before the election.

The former president built his popularity during his first successful campaign by promising to build a wall between the United States and Mexico, and he said on Saturday that deporting immigrants would be one of his priorities.

He added, "From day one, I will end all of the Biden administration's open border policies and we will launch the largest national deportation operation in the history of the United States. We have no choice."

In addition to immigration reform, the agreement, which was blocked in Congress, included additional aid to Ukraine and Israel.
